Niall completed a joint B.Sc.(Hons) in London in 1989 and then spent a couple of years travelling and climbing throughout the world before graduating in Law from Strathclyde in 1994. Niall qualified as a Solicitor and Notary Public in 1996, and in 2008 qualified as a Solicitor Advocate with extended rights of audience in the Court of Session and House of Lords. Niall was appointed as managing partner of the firm in 2005.
Niall heads up the Criminal and Civil Litigation Division, and the department deals with all aspects of civil, criminal and commercial litigation. Niall advises on all aspects of business as well as personal litigation, including appeals to the Court of Session, Judicial reviews and appeals to the Sheriff Principal. Niall also has a professional interest in advising on administrations and personal sequestration proceedings, and has experience of dealing with litigations throughout the breadth of the country in all courts.and specialises in all types of litigation both in the Sheriff and the Supreme Courts.
When not out climbing, Niall also tutors in civil advocacy on the Post Graduate Diploma course at the Glasgow Law School and sits on the Law Society of Scotland complaints committee.
